The dairy processing in India can be divided into private,co-op and Govt.agencies besides the traditional
unorganised sector. At present milk co-operative represent the major share of organised milk production.
At village level the co-op store is managed by the elected members. At district level the distict co-operative
union is managed by the Board of Directors. About 1000 village co-op store will joined to form a district co-op union. At
state level the federation will be formed.
Milk is an important human food. It contains proteins,fat,sugar,minerals and a liberal quantity of different
kind of vitamins. Milk is a balance diet.
